What role you will play on our team
The Production Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading the production engineering team, performing activities such as goal setting, planning, cost and budgeting, relationship management, managing employee career development, and coaching & mentoring. This role owns the functional delivery of the team's work scope, ensuring all aspects of their area are effectively managed in alignment with organizational goals. The Supervisor ensures that engineering deliverables of the group meet business partner needs while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This position requires strong leadership, relevant technical experience, and the ability to balance operational execution with strategic alignment across projects and organizations.
This role will be based in Williston, ND.
What you will do
- Lead production engineering team to deliver all safety, business controls, Operations Integrity and Standards of Business Conduct requirements.
- Administer HR policies and guidelines in accordance with management responsibilities.
- Responsible for ongoing implementation of asset vision and strategy ensuring efficient and timely delivery of work scope aligned with business objectives, driving improvement and fostering innovation.
- Steward career development for direct reports and operationalize employee development cycle
- Manage & prioritize resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to optimize business outcomes and team productivity
- Build and maintain strong and profitable working relationships with groups that may include customers, contractors, suppliers, business partners, industry associations, governments, non-governmental organizations, and the communities in which we operate.
- Evaluate multiple issues, data, processes, and situations to deliver results across a broad range of scenarios and stakeholders
- Take initiative to address challenges and improve results with reduced cost and / or improved efficiency / effectiveness
- Lead and manage multi-layered team using behaviors aligned with ExxonMobil’s Expectations of Leaders
About you
We are looking for someone who has a strong production engineering background and has the following qualifications:
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering discipline
- 5-15 years of relevant experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Self-directed with the ability to recognize/pursue solutions required to solve problems
- Ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, as well as adapt to tight deadlines and frequent shifting of priorities (ability to support active development)
- Ability to work in a fit-for-risk environment
- Ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively in a team with other disciplines, including operations, SSHE, regulatory, permitting, accounting, reservoir, wells, facilities and land
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and group discussions
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Prior supervisory and/or managerial experience leading technical team(s)
- Demonstrated work experience in upstream unconventional production operation methods
- Ability to support active development via frequent engagement with cross functional teams
