What role you will play in our team
The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. This role supports operational continuity by diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to service calls in a timely and professional manner.
What you will do
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and components (air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ventilation systems, etc.) Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and testing devices
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Respond to service calls and troubleshoot system failures in a timely manner
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and company standards
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding system issues and recommended solutions
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work environment Follow all safety policies and procedures
About you
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship
- Valid HVAC certification (EPA Section 608 required; additional certifications may apply)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and refrigeration cycles
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (typically up to 50–75 lbs) and work in confined or elevated spaces
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) or smart HVAC controls Strong communication skills
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Additional certifications (NATE, OSHA, etc.)
- Basic computer or mobile device proficiency for digital work orders and reporting
