What role you will play in our team
- Shift controller managing process operations, permit to work and general plant interactions.
- Leading toolbox talks and pre-start safety discussions.
- Hold others accountable for their standard of work on site.
What you will do
- Manage the day-to-day terminal operations in a safe and controlled manor.
- Prioritize planned tasks, contractors, and unplanned activities effectively.
- Liaise with different areas of the organization to optimize fuel movements and contractor tasks.
- Oversee stock movements, carry out regular reconciliations and communicate product availability.
- Be fully engaged with the sites personal safety system, contributing and leading targeted safety discussions.
- Reporting incidents in accordance with company guidance and thresholds, in a timely and proportionate manor.
- Calm and controlled under the pressure of an emergency response scenario.
About you
- A minimum year of experience in equivalent roles or relevant industry experience.
- Capable of working a day and night shift pattern, as part of a 24/7 – 365 shift team.
- Flexible to accommodate shift cover during periods of holiday, sickness, or temporary low staffing levels.
- Confident with delegating lower value tasks to supporting team members.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices.
- Excellent communication skills when working with individuals from various cultural and social backgrounds.
- Comfortable working alone as well as being in a team environment.
- Understand the role is a mixture if control room and field-based tasks.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
- English & Mathematics GCSE grade C or above.
- GQA, NVQ or equivalent in Warehouse and Storage / Bulk Liquid Operations seen as beneficial but not essential.
- Electrical or Mechanical qualifications seen as beneficial but not essential.
- Experience with DCS, SCADA or HMI systems.
- Proficient with basic Microsoft desktop applications; Word, Excel, Power Point.
