  • Produce short and long-term market outlooks on Canadian crude fundamentals and price differentials to inform trading decisions
  • Perform economic analysis of crude movements, quality adjustments, blending economics, transportation options (pipeline, rail, marine), and alternative markets

  • Track and analyze crude production trends, refinery demand, inventory levels, exports, and cross-border trade flows
  • Monitor pipeline, rail, storage, and terminal infrastructure, identifying constraints and opportunities impacting market pricing
  • Act as a key collaborator with traders, schedulers, operations, risk, and commercial teams to support trade execution and value generation
  • Serve as a power user of strategic trading and analytical tools, including market data systems, bespoke models, and internal analytics platforms
  • Contribute to special projects, market entry assessments, strategic studies, and portfolio optimization initiatives
  • Provide analytical support to Trading Management on ad hoc commercial and strategic issues

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS, BBA) in engineering, economics, mathematics, finance, business, or a related quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in market analysis, preferably within crude oil trading organizations, banks, funds, or energy-focused institutions
