What role you will play in our team

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Global Category Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for end-to-end category management responsibility to develop and leverage market insights to maximize value. This includes establishing strategy for the assigned category and advising on the execution of that strategy globally. The potential category of responsibility within Craft Labor Procurement includes services for Civil Construction, Electrical Instrumentation, or Waste & Industrial Cleaning. This position is based in Spring, TX, and reports to the Global Craft Procurement Strategy Manager.

What you will do

 

  • Develop, implement, and own commercial category strategies and plans to deliver business value
  • Stay informed of market trends then develop and translate insights into strategies and actions to drive value as well as communicate market information with global networks
  • Own, benchmark, and steward category metrics / KPIs
  • Utilize deep expertise in commercial tools/methods/analytics to develop and/or improve commercial strategies
  • Develop negotiation plans, and supports contract owners in agreement negotiations where necessary including advising and mentoring contract owners locally and globally in our Affiliates on how to incorporate strategies into contracts and bids
  • Serve as liaison between Affiliate Procurement and Business Operations to develop and align on ‘go to market’ approach for applicable Craft category.
  • Facilitate key supplier interfaces and support supplier engagement with selected suppliers solely or jointly with other stakeholders when applicable
  • Participate in Procurement category and business line technical networks
  • Support agreement development (standardized templates, scopes of work, bid evaluations, compensation, etc.)
  • Utilizes opportunity identification process to fill value pipeline

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or other relevant Business or Engineering degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of contracting, strategic procurement or sales and/or category management experience preferably in Craft/Services categories
  • Deep expertise and experience in establishing and executing commercial strategies
  • Category / commodity expertise including understanding of key market players / dynamics
  • Strategic thinking and relevant Supplier/Customer Engagement experience
  • Strong negotiation skills, including terms and conditions, deep expertise in varying types of compensation approaches and commercial negotiations 
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including use of sound judgement
  • Ability to create strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Effective collaborator across multi-function, multi-geography team
  • Team player with the ability to adapt to changing requirements or deadlines
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver results
  • Oil and Gas Industry or more general Construction/Projects experience
