What role you will play in our team

The Marine Operations Supervisor provides operational & technical expertise necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operations of marine assets while delivering optimal business results. This leadership / supervisory role is responsible for leading teams to support marine competency needs within the respective organization.

What you will do

  • Manage the safe and efficient operations and maintenance of marine assets used in the course of the corporation’s business. 
  • Leverage knowledge and experience in all aspects of management of marine vessel operations, including maintenance, regulatory compliance, administration, and customer service delivery. 
  • Provide leadership and consultancy for issues impacting marine operations with regard to state agencies and industry advocacy groups. 
  • Ensure adherence to all SSHE policy and programs to ensure protection of people, environment, assets and reputation. 
  • Ensure compliance with all policies & procedures, applicable laws & regulations, industry standards, operating guidelines, and best practices. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure third party vessel operations are conducted safely, reliably, and in compliance with appropriate rules, regulations, and industry best practices. 
  • Support, monitor and trouble shoot, marine asset operating systems. 
  • Support resolution of marine issues relating to terminal interfaces. 
  • Coordinate development of strategies and tactics and, as applicable, assess business opportunities. 
  • Supervise, Mentor team, promote a supportive work environment and culture, leveraging all supervisory resources. 

About you

Skills and Qualifications 

 

  • Minimum Chief Officer certificate; OR OOW (Officer of the watch) with minimum 10 years relevant experience on FSO, FPSO, LNG or tanker

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

  • Technical Knowledge & Equipment Operation: Previous FSO or FPSO experience preferred; tanker or LNG experience
  • Managing Marine Systems (Operation and Troubleshooting)
  • Floating Structure Operations
  • Managing Liquids Transfer Operations (Cargo, Ballast and Fueling)
  • Offshore Support Vessels
  • SSHE Management and Emergency Response
  • Terminal Operations
  • Vessel Administration (Regulatory Compliance, Policies, Procedures)
  • Vessel Machinery and Equipment (Operation and Troubleshooting)
  • Marine Logistics
  • Marine Navigation, Ship handling and Seamanship
  • Marine Quality Assurance and Control
