What role you will play in our team
A Utilityman is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operations relief in and around the Daisetta Storage Facility. Utilityman daily duties can consist of, but are not limited to:
- Utilityman perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment such as valves, samplers, meters, transmitters, controllers, etc.
- Calibration of devices such as transmitters, gas detectors, fire eyes and various other instruments.
- Daily Inspections and Monthly inspections
- General Filing and Data Entry
- In addition, Utilityman will be required to provide relief for Operators as required, working rotating 12 hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
- Utilityman must be willing to work in the close proximity to hydrocarbon products, electrical circuits, and machinery.
- This position participates in alcohol and drug testing programs (i.e., DOT and Company)
What you will do
- Maintain an incident free workplace by use of various Company safety programs
- Read and understand station flow and pipeline alignment drawings in order to properly open/close valves for directing product flow
- Responsible for the accurate measurement and sampling of various products and accurate control pipeline receipts via ongoing communications with Pipeline company employees
- Utilize computer software to perform various data input, product tracking and reporting, and company communication.
- Perform facility maintenance, including painting, grounds upkeep, cleaning windows and floors, etc.
About you
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent safe work ethic
- Ability to plan daily work activities in accordance with established Company and Regulatory procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both alone and with others
- Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) effectively.
- Able to use Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Willing and able to work in various locations, both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
- Able to ascend to the top of tanks to perform gauging or other work.
- Willing and able to work rotating shifts
- Will be expected to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as necessary and respond to call-outs.
- The position will be required to perform relief work.
- Must be willing and able to attend/complete required training courses.
- Ability to operate hand tools or other pipeline equipment to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Safe driving skills, a valid driver's license
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and DOT regulations
