As an Associate Instrument Engineer, you will support the design, application, troubleshooting, and improvement of instrumentation and control systems used in petrochemical, refining, and energy operations. Job Role Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Support instrumentation engineering activities across the asset lifecycle, including design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, start-up, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Assist in developing instrumentation design specifications and reviewing contractor or vendor technical deliverables.
  • Provide technical support during testing, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and operational activities.
  • Support equipment reliability through failure analysis, bad actor elimination, maintenance optimization, and operating procedure improvements.
  • Apply existing and emerging technologies to improve reliability, availability, maintainability, efficiency, and asset performance.
  • Support instrumentation configuration, testing, performance monitoring, Management of Change activities, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, reliability programs, equipment strategy reviews, and risk-based maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, project teams, contractors, and vendors to deliver safe and effective engineering solutions.
  • Share knowledge, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Uphold Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental standards in all engineering and operational work.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in:
    • Electrical / Electronic Engineering;
    • Control & Automation Engineering;
    • Instrumentation & Control Systems; or
    • Equivalent engineering discipline.
  • 0–5 years of relevant experience in instrumentation, controls, automation, electrical systems, engineering projects, manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, or energy operations.
  • Strong interest in instrumentation, control systems, automation, and industrial technology.
  • Good analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork, ownership, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to communicate in English for work discussions, documentation, and technical coordination.

Experience That Will Be an Advantage

  • Internship, graduate trainee, or early-career experience in petrochemical, refining, Oil & Gas, chemical manufacturing, power, utilities, or heavy industry.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation equipment, control systems, field instruments, automation software, or plant operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Industrial Control Systems Environment security design, implementation, or ongoing management.
  • Exposure to commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, reliability, functional testing, or Management of Change processes.
