As an Advanced Control System Engineer, you will lead the design, configuration, implementation, commissioning, maintenance, optimization, and lifecycle management of industrial control systems, including DCS, SCADA, servers, workstations, and control networks. You will provide technical leadership across operating assets and projects, support cybersecurity and reliability programs, mentor junior engineers, and help deliver cost-effective technology solutions that improve operational performance.

Job Role Responsibilities

What You Will Do

Lead control system design, configuration, implementation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Support DCS, SCADA, servers, workstations, control networks, virtualization infrastructure, and related automation systems.
Maintain system reliability, cybersecurity, and sustainability through monitoring, troubleshooting, failure analysis, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery, and hardware refresh programs.
Develop and support lifecycle and maintenance programs that improve system availability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
Lead control system projects from concept through start-up, including design reviews, testing, commissioning, vendor coordination, and Management of Change activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, manage lifecycle investments, and deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.
Ensure compliance with engineering, safety, cybersecurity, industry, and site standards.
Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide technical guidance, training, documentation, and mentoring to operations teams and junior engineers.
Foster knowledge sharing, vendor partnerships, and technical excellence across the organization.

What We Are Looking For

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing or supporting DCS / industrial control systems in petrochemical, refining, Oil & Gas, chemical manufacturing, or related industries.
Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, including DCS, SCADA, servers, workstations, networks, and control system infrastructure.
Experience in control system troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance, commissioning, lifecycle management, and operational support.
Strong analytical thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across operations, maintenance, projects, vendors, and technical teams.
Good spoken and written English for technical communication, documentation, and coordination.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, or equivalent DCS platforms.
Experience with Windows Server and client systems, including design, configuration, installation, maintenance, patching, backup, and recovery.
Experience designing, implementing, and sustaining process control system infrastructure, including Active Directory, file services, terminal services, system management services, and virtualization.
Experience in design, installation, commissioning, and start-up of new control systems.
Knowledge of industrial control system cybersecurity, patch management, access control, system hardening, and network security.
Experience leading system upgrades, migrations, hardware refresh programs, or obsolescence management initiatives.
Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical workstreams.
