As an Advanced Instrument Engineer, you will lead technical troubleshooting, support engineering design and commissioning, improve instrumentation reliability, and provide expert guidance across operating sites, projects, contractors, and vendors. Job Role Responsibilities
What You Will Do
- Lead troubleshooting, failure analysis, root cause investigations, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support for instrumentation design, specification, configuration, programming, testing, commissioning, start-up, operation, and maintenance.
- Review engineering deliverables, technical standards, procedures, and equipment requirements.
- Support reliability programs, risk assessments, incident investigations, bad actor elimination, and risk-based maintenance practices.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to reliability, availability, maintainability, and efficiency.
- Support Management of Change, equipment modifications, upgrades, and new installations.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, project teams, contractors, vendors, and technical networks.
- Mentor less-experienced engineers and share best practices across the organization.
- Uphold SSHE standards and support safe, reliable plant operations.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Systems, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and process controls within petrochemical, refining, Oil & Gas, chemical manufacturing, or design institute environments.
- Advanced competency in process instrumentation, including pressure, flow, level, temperature, control valves, actuators, and related field devices.
- Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, and SIS.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective team player with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Good spoken and written English for technical communication and documentation.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of engineering specifications, industry standards, country-specific regulations, and local codes.
- Experience in commissioning, start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, or project execution.
- Knowledge of Industrial Control Systems Environment security design, implementation, and ongoing management.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical workstreams.
