What role you will play on our team

 

Located just outside Corpus Christi, Texas, Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV) brings innovation to the Coastal Bend by strengthening U.S. manufacturing capabilities and producing the materials that enable high-performance products used every day. Our site is supported by approximately 300 employees across operations, maintenance, technical, administrative, and leadership functions, all working together to achieve world-class performance.

 

As the Laboratory Quality Lead, you will own and manage our quality system which is closely tied to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025. You will also support lab personnel in quality and act as a senior resource for advanced instrument troubleshooting, method development, and communications to stakeholders. We possess a “one team” mindset and compete to win. One day you might be making LIMS changes and the next day developing our next GC method. A willingness to learn, adapt, and share learnings is paramount.

 

What you will do

 

  • Lead investigations related to laboratory quality issues, deviations, non-conformances, and customer concerns using data analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Own and govern laboratory analytical methods, including method development, implementation, improvement, and the Test Method Assessment (TMA) program.
  • Lead laboratory quality systems and ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, and industry requirements.
  • Monitor statistical quality control (SQC) performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage calibration programs, proficiency testing, quality standards, and measurement assurance activities.
  • Own and administer laboratory information systems, including LIMS, SampleManager, Integration Manager, QCPlus, and business continuity plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for analytical testing and laboratory operations.
  • Work with Operations and Communities of Practice to improve product quality, testing capability, and laboratory performance.
  • Represent the laboratory on site and corporate quality teams
  • Promote safety, compliance, and continuous improvement through training, communication, and employee engagement.

 

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years experience (in oil and gas / petrochemical industry or other relevant industry
  • Proficient in Excel and SQL for data extraction and analysis

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Strong courage of conviction to own and report quality issues as they arise
  • Strong organizational habits
  • Comfortable giving technical presentations in a way that audiences of all technical depths can understand
  • Ability to mentor and influence those around you to elevate collective competency
