Key Accountabilities

 

  • Primary role within the Cell Operations team in Tailings Operations as a Dozer Operator (D8T wide track Tailings dozer)
    • Safely execute cell operations activities while adapting to changing ground conditions, visibility, and seasonal weather
    • Work collaboratively within a small Cell Operations team to execute daily tailings construction activities efficiently and safely
    • Frequently climb in and out of the dozer throughout the shift and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs
    • Maintain a production mindset while consistently prioritizing safety and quality of work
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, lead hands, and other team members
    • Proactively recognize, assess, and communicate hazards resulting from changing ground, weather, and operational conditions
  • Participate in additional civil construction activities as required to support Tailings Operations daily priorities
  • Actively participate in Safety in the Moment to prevent Life Altering Injuries
    • Demonstrated ability to stop work, assess risk, and identify both hazards and safeguards in job execution
  • Perform work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Act as a team player by maintaining respectful, timely, and clear communication with supervisors, lead hands, and peers

 

About You
    

  • Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a minimum of 5 years’ experience operating a Tailings Dozer in tailings cell construction operations
  • Operating experience with loader and excavators is considered an asset
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Proven ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a small team environment

Job Location: Kearl Oilsands Site, Tailings Operations, Alberta

 

 

Shift Schedule: 14 days on/14 days off, 12-hour shifts, day shift and night shift
