What Role You Will Play on Our Team
As a key member of the Planning and Stewardship team, the Financial Planning Advisor is responsible for business and financial planning, stewardship and performance analysis supporting a major operating business unit. Through these activities, you will be involved in business decisions and process improvement, providing financial insights that directly influence business performance and strategic decision-making. This role offers exposure to operational leadership and senior management while contributing to initiatives that drive business value and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Support annual planning process developing the financial plan for a major operating segment
- Utilize financial models, scenario analysis, and business cases to support strategic initiatives and decision making
- Independently analyze financial results for insights to understand key business events
- Contribute to recurring financial reporting activities, including oil and gas reporting and external disclosures
- Monitor key financial metrics and challenge assumptions providing recommendations
- Drive initiatives that improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and decision-making capabilities
- Enable continuous enhancement and process improvement through dashboards and analytical tools
- Partner in special projects, strategic analysis, and ad hoc requests from senior leadership
About You
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive finance / accounting experience
- Analytical thinking and problem -solving ability to synthesize financial data into business insights
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
- Capability to manage multiple monthly priorities and deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Experience with accounting systems like SAP and analytic tools such as Power BI or other intelligence tools
- Comfortable working independently and continuous improvement mindset
- Previous experience within the oil & gas industry is preferred
