Job Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain plant instrumentation and electrical equipment in an oil/gas processing facility.
  • This includes, but not limited to transmitters, valves, switches, sensors, pumps, motors, VFDs, switchgear, lighting, transformers, etc.
  • Fully supports the use of a computerized maintenance management system by demonstrating proficiency in using the system, entering data consistent with a dedication to the facility maintenance philosophy.
  • Records equipment discrepancies and documents maintenance actions taken, in detail, on work orders.
  • Handles corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance work orders in a timely and high quality manner.
  • Proficient in documenting spare parts usage and re-ordering.
  • An extremely "hands-on" position requiring the ability to support the facility Monday - Friday and an after-hours, on-call basis.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required

  • Five years of formal or industry training is required.
  • Higher operational and maintenance understanding of instrumentation, controls, control systems, safety systems, and electrical equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of I&E functions including, programming, troubleshooting, installing and maintaining all equipment and DCS/SCADA functions will be helpful but not required.
  • Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate, work with other personnel, departments, and outside officials.
  • Computer skills required for planning, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to read and decipher electrical and control drawings.
  • Must be able to understand the principals of flow, level, temperature, calibrations, and control.
  • Must have the ability to effectively maintain and calibrate transmitters, valves, devices, chromatographs, and moisture analyzers.
  • Must have the ability to tune, calibrate, maintain and test control valves and shut-down valves.
  • Must be able to display a positive attitude and provide a healthy team work environment.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

 

Typical Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm with scheduled weeks of callout
