The IT department is seeking new candidates to its dynamic team. The department provides support worldwide to the Organizations all along the value chain from exploration through site development to production.
What role you will play in our team
The Messaging Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating enterprise messaging platforms across hybrid and cloud environments.
This role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and highly available messaging infrastructure, including Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and Exchange Online), email security platforms, and cloud-based integrations. You will contribute to the modernization of messaging services, improve system reliability, and enhance security controls across the organization.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams, supporting both operational excellence and strategic transformation initiatives.
While this description covers a broad range of technologies, we are hiring for multiple initiatives. We value strong experience in some of these areas and a willingness to learn others, you are not expected to meet every requirement to apply.
What you will do
• Design, build, and support messaging infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments (Exchange and Exchange Online)
• Manage and improve email flow, policies, and messaging reliability across global environments
• Support messaging security platforms, ensuring protection against spam, phishing, and other threats
• Contribute to the design and implementation of secure and highly available messaging architectures
• Participate in migration and hybrid coexistence scenarios between on-prem and cloud environments
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to strengthen messaging security and compliance
• Support automation initiatives and improve operational efficiency
• Participate in troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis
• Contribute to integration efforts with other enterprise systems and services
About You:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in Messaging, Infrastructure, or related roles
• Experience working with Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and/or Exchange Online)
• Understanding of hybrid messaging environments and migration scenarios
• Familiarity with email flow concepts (SMTP, DNS, routing) and messaging architectures
• Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell or similar)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure fundamentals (networking, identity, authentication, certificates)
• Experience working in collaborative or Agile environments
• Good English communication skills (written and spoken)
Nice to have:
• Experience with Microsoft 365 security & compliance tools (Defender, eDiscovery, retention)
• Exposure to email security platforms (Proofpoint or similar)
• Knowledge of email authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
• Experience with API integrations or automation workflows
• Knowledge of identity platforms (Entra ID / Active Directory integration)
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale messaging environments
