ExxonMobil’s affiliates in India supporting the Product Solutions business engage in the marketing, sales and distribution of performance as well as specialty products across chemicals and lubricants businesses. The India planning teams are also embedded with global business units for business planning and analytics.

 

ExxonMobil’s LNG affiliate in India supporting the upstream business provides consultant services for other ExxonMobil upstream affiliates and conducts LNG market-development activities.

What role you will play in our team

 

  • Responsible for determining preferential and non preferential origin, qualifying products under relevant FTAs
  • Maintaining audit ready documentation (BOM costed structures, supplier declarations, origin calculations, and certificates)

Roles and Responsibilities

 

Preferential Origin Qualification (FTAs)

  •  Analyze BOMs, HS classifications, and regional value content to qualify products under agreements such as USMCA, CPTPP, EU FTAs, CA/MX FTAs, etc.
  • Apply product specific rules (change in tariff classification, RVC, process rules); document methodologies and outcomes.
  • Prepare and issue certificates/statements of origin (e.g., USMCA cert equivalents); maintain renewals and validity periods.

 

Supplier Engagement & Data Governance

  • Lead supplier solicitations for origin and content data (forms, long term declarations); validate and reconcile inconsistencies.
  • Establish controlled repositories linking SKUs to origin evidence (supplier declarations, costed BOMs, calculation sheets).

 

Non Preferential Origin & Marking

  • Determine country of origin per customs rules (substantial transformation, specific processing); guide labeling/marking requirements.
  • Align origin with HTS classification, valuation, and entry documentation 

 

Controls & Audit Readiness

  • Build operating procedures, work instructions, and checklists for origin determination and certificate issuance.
  • Conduct periodic audits; manage post entry corrections, prior disclosures, and regulator inquiries as needed.

 

Systems, Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Integrate origin data into SAP; maintain master data across lifecycle changes.
  • Evaluate and implement rule based automation; monitor FTA updates and cascade changes to affected SKUs.

 

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering for design/material changes; with Sourcing for supplier transitions; with Finance for duty savings tracking.

Skills and Qualifications

 

Required

  • Demonstrated experience in FTA origin qualification and non preferential origin determination
  • Solid knowledge of major FTAs (USMCA, CPTPP, EU FTAs) and methodologies (CTC, RVC, process rules).
  • Experience building and validating costed BOMs, supplier declarations, and certificate management.
  • Proficient knowledge of ERP/SAP tools
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and extraction of information from ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle)
  • Prociency with advanced analytics tools (Tableau or PowerBI for visualization)
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.Problem solving and improvement mindset

Preferred

  • Familiarity with origin marking, de minimis, drawback interactions, and broker governance.
  • Exposure to classification (HTS/HS) and export controls (ECCN/EAR) where origin interacts with compliance posture.
  • Adapts to changing & competing priorities in response to dynamic supply/demand situations
  • Make and support sound business decisions in complex situations by clearly understanding and articulating risks & options
  • Working independently and knowing when to escalate
  • Proactively monitors and resolves issues, following up on pending requests, and communicates to key stakeholders on progress & updates
  • Prioritizing and organizing tasks based on urgency, developing events, and time sensitive needs while coping with the stressful    situations in an operational environment
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipating issues/impacts and preventing where possible
  • Experience with ERP and/or Supply Chain Planning Systems·
