What Role Will You Play In Our Team
ExxonMobil is expanding its presence in India, driving energy and chemical solutions through innovation and global integration. As part of this growth, we’re looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our communication efforts in support of our business, engineering, and technology center in Bangalore.This role, within our India Public and Government Affairs team, shapes strategic communications for our Bangalore center, strengthening our brand, fostering business opportunities, and supporting our growth objectives in Bangalore and across India.
What Will You Do
As Communications Advisor, you will:
- Strategic Communications: Develop and implement robust communications strategies aligned with ExxonMobil’s priorities for Bangalore; identify and capture communications opportunities to maximize publicity values of business initiatives.
- Creative Storytelling: Create engaging content – written, video and multimedia – that resonates with target audiences.
- Social Media: Oversee ExxonMobil Bangalore’s and senior leader’s presence on social media, and strategically leverage different comms channels to drive engagement and brand visibility.
- Brand Guidance: Provide brand guidance and review branding materials to ensure a consistent image and voice for ExxonMobil.
- Media Relations: Build and nurture relationships with news media to amply our business initiatives.
- External Engagement: Identify opportunities for external communications, support public speaking engagements, and craft effective speeches.
- Leadership Partner: Provide actionable insights to business leaders as a trusted communications advisor.
- Issue Monitoring: Track social and news media, anticipate potential issues, and deliver timely analysis and recommendations.
About You
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public affairs, marketing, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in corporate communications, social media, and content development; experience in a multinational company setting and skills in multimedia production are strong pluses.
- Strategic Mindset: Proactive, solution-oriented and creative thinker with the ability to turn strategies into actions and deliver results.
- Local Expertise: Deep understanding of local social media and news media landscape, politics, and culture.
- Influence and Collaboration: Strong team spirit, and ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, drive progress under pressure, and influence diverse stakeholders to achieve alignment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal abilities; fluency in spoken and written English is essential, and proficiency in Kannada is preferred.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work and attend meetings and events outside regular working hours as needed.
