Accounting Analyst Student - St. John's

Job description

Imperial is looking for ambitious and highly motivated business students to join our finance and accounting organization. You will be working in a fast-paced team environment and expected to prepare, analyze, interpret and communication financial results while maintaining effective business controls.

 

Sample work-terms include:

  • Operations Accountant - stewarding and financial reporting of Operations and Drilling activity, and analyzing financial information for presentation to management in support of Hibernia, HSE and Sable's various business lines
  • Projects Accountant - stewarding and financial reporting of major project expenditures, project milestones and contract attests for the Hebron Project
  • Joint Interest Accountant - stewarding and financial reporting of joint interest accounts in the various Eastern Canada assets

 

Note: All above roles may include significant support relative to the Securities and Exchange Commission, joint venture, and royalty audits.

 

Student terms will also include a variety of short-term projects designed to provide challenging practical work experiences in the 6 CPA technical competencies including financial reporting, management accounting & analysis, audit and assurance, strategy & governance, finance and tax.

Qualifications

Academic:

  • 2nd, 3rd or 4th year university business students, a concentration in accounting is preferred
  • Strong desire to obtain a professional accounting designation
  • To be considered for employment, your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application


Other:

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, willingness to learn, attention to detail and demonstrated leadership
  • Geographic mobility

 

Start date: September 2018

 

Work term: 4 months
