Job description

As a Pipefitter / Welder Technician you will be working within the site mechanical department whose role is to execute base and turnaround maintenance to ensure a safe and reliable operation of all site processing equipment. 
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing approved standards to facilitate maintenance and repairs to piping systems. 
  • Interpreting drawings for layout, fabrication & installation of piping equipment.
  • Preparing isometric drawings from field measurements for shop & fabrication of piping systems and fabricating piping systems.
  • Setting up and operating shop & field welding equipment.
  • Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel and chrome piping systems utilizing a variety of techniques.
  • Performing rigging and hoisting activities.
  • Troubleshooting and execution of cross trade tasks based on capability and experience. 
  • Execution of all work consistent with an "all injuries and incidents can be prevented" work ethic.
  • Repair reporting and documentation.

 

 

Qualifications
Academic:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is minimum requirement.
  • Must have Journey Person Pipefitter ticket or Certified Red Seal Interprovincial Pipefitter.

 

Other:

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a minimum of five years relevant experience, preferably with refinery knowledge or background.
  • Capable of climbing, lifting & other physical activities for specific periods of time.
  • Able to clearly communicate with others both written & verbally.
  • Able to react/respond safely to stress related work activities/emergencies.
  • Effectively manage time and priorities.
