Maintenance First Line Supervisor

Job description

The maintenance first-line trade supervisor would be assigned to the Sarnia site mechanical group whose prime role is to define and execute base and turnaround maintenance, ensuring safe and reliable operation of all site processing units. The individual will be responsible for leading a trade work group in the safe and effective execution of maintenance work within a processing area.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • The personal safety performance of the employees in the workgroup consistent with an "all injuries and incidents can be prevented" work ethic
  • Monitoring work, responding to safe and at risk behaviors and ensuring minimal safety and health risk exposure
  • Developing the skills and capabilities of the work group
  • Continually working to improve the productivity of the work group and ensuring work is safely completed as schedule
  • Providing input into overall job plans and schedules
  • Monitoring of field execution and providing feedback on plans and schedules
  • Troubleshooting and providing support to the quality of repair work
  • Assuring repair reporting requirements are met and data & information is accurately recorded

 

Qualifications
Academic:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Other:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Must have a minimum of five years relevant experience,
  • Boilermaker or pipefitting background experience is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to build good, respectful working relationship in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills:  Microsoft Office including creating and manipulating Word documents and Excel worksheets.
  • Effectively manage time and priorities
