Job Description

Reporting to Process Technical Group Leader, process technical contact engineers are responsible for monitoring and improving the performance of process unit operations to supply product in a safe, reliable, and energy efficient manner at the lowest possible cost.  Responsibilities may include:

  • Accountable for delivering high quality process monitoring.
    • Drives Reliability and Predictability through effective daily, weekly and monthly unit monitoring.  
    • Drives Sustainability through maintaining evergreen and up-to-date units monitoring tools.
    • Communicates promptly process variables outside of operating envelopes that could cause process safety / reliability events or not meeting the run plan. 
    • Drive Operating Envelopes compliance during unit start-ups and shutdowns. 
  • Accountable for providing technical input on daily optimization (KMV/KEV/KXV) and constraints management.
  • Accountable for providing prompt and high quality troubleshooting.
  • Accountable for developing and stewarding Catalyst/Chemical plan.
  • Accountable for stewarding EII and Unit Intensities.
  • Accountable for performing environmental calculations, including release/spill estimates.




  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or equivalent, as certified by an accredited/recognized institution.  
  • Your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills



  • Previous refinery, chemical Plant or closely related engineering experience.
  • High degree of analytical and technical ability, able to communicate complex technical data clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail with handling high quantity and quality of work
  • bility to effectively influence others without authority 
  • Strong Interpersonal effectiveness
  • A valid driver’s license is required for certain positions
  • Work schedule: Full time position
