What role you will play in our team

 

The Maintenance Shift Supervisor will hold a key operational role within the Kearl Mine Organization. You will be responsible for the effective execution of planned and unscheduled maintenance activities, routine equipment inspections and monitoring and other duties required to achieve world class levels of equipment availability and performance. 

What you will do

 

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for repair and maintenance of haul trucks, Electric and Hydraulic shovels as well as a variety of support equipment.
  • Manage day to day maintenance activities including in-pit and shop support and supervision of fine and heavy trade’s employees.  
  • Work closely with counterparts in maintenance, operations and other support groups to maximize overall operational effectiveness.  
  • Management of shift safety performance, process stewardship, cost and budget accountability and continuous improvement planning and execution.

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

Technology/Technicians/Trades/Operations:

 

  • Five or more years’ experience in a supervisory role in a large scale mining operation. 
  • Trade certificate, diploma, or degree in a relevant technical field such as Red Seal Heavy equipment technician, 
  • Electrician or millwright, Full Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a safe driving record. 

 

Preferred Qualification/Experience

 

  • Able to work independently and as part of a professional maintenance team.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to safe operations and continuous improvement.

  • This position will be a full-time fly-in, fly-out camp based role to the Kearl site with a 14 days on/14 days off work schedule. Bussing is available from Fort McMurray, and flights are available from either Calgary or Edmonton. Relocation assistance to Fort McMurray, Calgary or Edmonton is available if required.
