What role you will play in our team

 

Are you seeking a strong foundation in an active mining operation? Are you driven by multidisciplinary challenges, problem solving, collaboration, innovation and fast pace, and passionate about safety?  We have the role for you!  We are a strong multi-skilled and diverse operations team. We are responsible for water management, civil projects, fuel and lube and mine ancillary activities. In our team you will get in-depth exposure to mining operation, be involved in a variety of areas enabling production and learn the key drivers to safe and successful mining.

What you will do

 

  • You will be working closely with the site engineering team and field leadership and offered a variety of opportunities to integrate engineering and technical knowledge in an operational environment to drive continuous improvement, execution optimization and establish best practices. Including but not limited to:
    • Design review and optimization across civil and water management
    • Technology applications and opportunities across all scopes
    • Data interpretation, analytics and performance feedback to teams
    • Engagement across 4 shift crews to support and drive alignment in process and best practices improvements

 

  • You will be FIFO (Fly in, fly out) and be based at Kearl site working 14 days on, 14 days off rotation (camp)
     

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications
 

  • Enrolled in credited engineering program, preference to Mining, Civil or Industrial disciplines
  • Prior field experience in mining or civil earthworks is an asset
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Willing to FIFO (hubs Calgary/Edmonton) and live in camp during14 days schedule


Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
 

  • ​​​​​​​Enrolled in engineering program
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and oversight
  • Growth mindset, highly motivated and driven to learn, improve and engage in diverse teams
  • Self-starter with strong analytical, collaboration and communication skills
  • Preference will be given to Indigenous candidates, particularly those from the Wood Buffalo Region
  • If you are a candidate who wishes to self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations or Métis) for eligibility in our preferential Indigenous recruitment program, you must attach a proof of membership letter from your association/settlement/band office to your application. Eligibility to work in Canada:
