This is a site based role, rotating to Kearl Oil Sands on a 14/14 rotation. Flights to Kearl are available from either Edmonton, AB or Calgary, AB. 
This role would be reporting to Ops Tech Support Supervisor, with primary direction from the Mine Engineering Lead as well as designated site-based mentorship. 

 

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Technical site support for day-to-day Mine Planning activities, opportunities identification, and short-term engineering initiatives
  • Design and produce deliverables using Mine Planning Software and Dispatch system (Deswik and MineStar)
  • Support mine performance surveillance and equipment productivity optimization for Shovels, Trucks, and Waste Placement
  • Collaborate with key Business Team stakeholders including Operations, Maintenance, and Technical)

Qualifications

Academic:

  • Working towards a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Other:

  • Safety related work experience and knowledge of the oil and gas industry
  • Self-motivation with strong interpersonal and team work skills
