What role you will play in our team


Imperial is offering trading internships to 3rd or 4th year students working in our commodity trading teams. These teams manage the trading, marketing, logistics, and market risk of Imperial’s crude oil, refined products and natural gas portfolios. As an intern you will be working on real business projects. You will have the opportunity to develop skills and to build a solid understanding of commodity markets, logistics and trading. Your responsibilities may include providing analysis of opportunities, markets, trading performance, and risk and other project work alongside our trading/scheduling/risk teams and management.

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, finance, or other numerate discipline
  • Keen interest in energy markets and commodity trading
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and academic performance
  • Previous industry experience is beneficial but not essential
  • A base level of proficiency in any programming language is a core requirement to ensure you are set up for success
  • To be considered for employment, your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

  • Commitment to safety on and off the job
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required for the role
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, results-oriented individuals who are energized by working with people and by achieving superior results

Work term: 12 months

Eligibility to work in Canada
