What role you will play in our team

 

Are you of a project mindset and interested in heavy civil construction and mining? If you are passionate about safety, delivering projects, building positive relationships, and working within a strong and diverse team, then we have the role for you!  We currently have an opportunity within our Kearl Heavy Civil Projects Team. You will get to use your technical and team skills to deliver a portfolio of mine advance and progressive reclamation projects.

What you will do

 

  • Manage multiple civil projects, holding accountability for project performance (Safety/Quality/Cost/Schedule).  Provide project leadership to and ensure successful completion in line with civil portfolio objectives
  • Lead the development of key project deliverables (project plan, field installation work plans) and implement in project execution.
  • Serve as key interface point for all project related inquiries, liaising with construction execution team, contractors, discipline engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and all other project stakeholders
  • Support, monitor and appraise Contractor and execution performance.
  • Learn and adapt future project performance by leading continuous improvement initiatives, investigations and lessons learned workshops
  • Your work will ensure the asset meets our mine advance and progressive reclamation targets and commitments!
  • Based out of the Calgary office, with frequent travel to the Kearl site.
     

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications
 

  • Enrolled in engineering program, preference to Civil or Mining disciplines.
  • Preference to last or second to last work term
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Willing to travel to site on a visitor basis.
  • Able to work individually, as well as in a team situation, with minimal supervision
  • Highly motivated, takes iniative and ownership.

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
 

  • Prior project, mining or civil earthworks experience is an asset, but not mandatory. 

 

Start date: January ,2025

 

Location: Calgary, AB

 

Work term: 8-16 Months
