What role you will play in our team

 

As a valued member of our team, you will collaborate with leading experts in data analytics at one of Canada’s top employers. You’ll have your own tasks but can count on support and teamwork from your colleagues. We are seeking a driven and innovative Co-op Data Technician to join our dynamic team in Upstream Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE).  Your contributions will not only enhance our projects but also help shape a safer and more sustainable future.

What you will do

 

  • Pilot using our internal chatbots to search and draft documents for subject matter experts to review.
  • Support the GenAI Product Manager in achieving repeatable results, maximizing adoption of our tools. Liaise with internal digital team to remove barriers to documentation and tools.
  • Engage with internal users to ensure their needs are met and we are solving the right problems.
  • Conduct peer reviews with the SSHE team to capture user feedback, particularly of GenAI Virtual Assistants
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to quickly action and convert business ideas into scoped work
  • Daily tasks might include entering data into our software, running Excel reports, and reviewing dashboards to spot trends.

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications
 

  • Candidate should be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a Canadian accredited university.
  • Nintex Forms: Experience in creating and updating existing forms or workflows to streamline processes.
  • Data Visualization Tools: Working knowledge of Tableau and/or Power BI for creating, customizing, and updating reports 
  • Excel Skills: Stong skills in Excel, including the use of formulas like VLOOKUP and COUNTIF, along with the ability to filter data and draw insightful conclusions.
  • SharePoint Knowledge: Familiarity with SharePoint and /or website site administration knowledge is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, data lakes and SQL considered an asset.

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
 

  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Confident in communicating across teams while keeping everyone updated on project statuses and making inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Working from Quarry Park office is preferred with some flexibility on working remotely.
