Corporate Security Advisor

Job description

As a corporate security subject matter expert, you will be a key contributor to advance Imperial’s longstanding commitment in protecting its people, facilities, information, and other assets. You will accomplish this through a variety of tasks such as:


  • Assess and improve corporate security programs and practices in response to risks impacting upstream, downstream and corporate departments
  • Coordinate and conduct investigations and prepare reports
  • Develop threat assessments and corporate intelligence communications; mitigate threat vectors using intelligence-led decision making
  • Cooperate with internal security professionals and contacts within the broader ExxonMobil corporation, police and intelligence agencies
  • Provide consultation and guidance to leadership teams and operations
  • Provide assistance to corporate departments in other types of investigations (audit, HR)
  • Participate in Executive Protection
  • Develop security procedures and implementation plans for technical security projects
  • Develop and lead security specific training
  • Support the company’s Emergency response team
  • Create and drive proactive solutions with ethics, diversity and reputation of the company in mind


  • Bachelor degree or equivalent - relevant to the position (e.g. criminal justice, law, security management, etc.)
  • Minimum of five years of experience in law enforcement, military, or security related private sector with demonstrated career progression and continuous learning
  • This position is designated as Safety Sensitive under the company’s Alcohol & Drug policy and will require successful pre-employment certification process.
  • French language is an advantage

Demonstrated experience in:

  • Leading strategic and tactical intelligence cycle and providing actionable guidance
  • Presenting and providing security recommendations to senior managers and asset management teams
  • Conducting complex investigations
  • Balancing competing priorities, deploying business acumen and reaching collaborative solutions

Ability to:

  • Work in a complex organization
  • Communicate and present to a wide range of audiences
  • Exercise critical thinking
  • Influence and lead others in the absence of having a direct line of authority
  • Strictly maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information
  • Proficiently use Microsoft Office and other collaboration tools
  • Extensively travel domestically (multi-day trips) and internationally (occasionally) is a must
