Contracts Support Student - Calgary

Job Description

 

Imperial is looking for ambitious and highly motivated business students to join our Procurement Services Department (PSD). You will be working in a fast-paced team environment and have the opportunity to grow in the negotiation, contracting and payment, of materials and services.

 

Examples of Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing client advice and guidance related to acquisition processes
  • Negotiating pricing and terms with vendors
  • Providing support in expediting material deliveries and resolving invoicing issues
  • Conducting agreement reviews to determine alignment with controls 
  • Providing analytics to support contract administration activities

 

Student terms will also include a variety of short-term projects with specific deliverables for completion by the end of your work term.

Qualifications

 

Academic:

  • Currently pursuing a university business/commerce/supply chain management degree and returning to school after this work term
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills
  • Previous industry experience is considered beneficial, but not essential
  • To be considered for employment, your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application

 

Other:

  • Supply chain / procurement experience is preferred
  • A desire to learn and create value
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interface with suppliers and business clients
  • Team player with business acumen, and effective time management abilities 
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Work schedule: Full time position

 


Start date: May 2022

 

Work Term: 4 or 8 months

Eligibility to work in Canada
