About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
- Work location can be Houston, TX or Washington D.C.
- Serve as a lead expert on carbon capture, transport and storage policy and regulatory development to help meet ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions’ (LCS) business goals involving its Gulf Coast, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific operations and those of its domestic and international partners.
What you will do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for carbon capture, transport and storage policy issues within ExxonMobil and interface between LCS business lines and the company’s domestic federal and state government affairs and international regional policy and advocacy teams.
- Coordinate, develop and drive implementation and advocacy of policies to enable near-term investment in commercial carbon capture and storage projects and longer-term development of a broader market for lower-carbon intensity energy and industrial products produced with carbon management.
- Work in close collaboration with business lines and domestic and international policy and advocacy teams to foster global companywide alignment on key policy positions, strategy and advocacy.
- Provide targeted support to business development teams involved in public hearings; geologic storage, CO2 pipeline and other project permitting; community and stakeholder engagement; and other critical project-enabling activities. Familiarity with U.S. EPA’s Class VI Underground Injection Control permitting program is desirable.
- Collaborate with other LCS policy team members on shared carbon capture, transport and storage elements of low-carbon fuels and low-carbon data center business lines.
- Develop and manage collaborative relationships with government officials, legislators and regulators; thought leaders; industry associations; NGO and labor advocates; and other key stakeholders to develop and advance an actionable policy agenda.
- Ensure advocacy is consistent with established ExxonMobil principles and guidelines.
About You
Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of combined experience working on energy and technology policy issues
- Possess knowledge and expertise in federal policy in both congressional and agency context
- Strong network within the energy and climate stakeholder community
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communication, coordination, and collaboration skills
- Ability to effectively influence others without authority
- Willingness to travel domestically and globally

- Possess knowledge and expertise with state policy
- Ability to effectively manage interpersonal relationships across multiple functions and in a diverse work group
- Exhibit deep curiosity, demonstrating strategic thinking to drive long term growth

- The expected annual salary range for this position is $130,000 - $300,000. Individual pay will be determined based on various factors, which may include skills, abilities, qualifications, work experience, and education.
- Pension Plan: Enrollment is automatic and at no cost to you. The basic benefit is a monthly annuity to be paid to you in retirement for the rest of your life.
- Savings Plan: You can contribute between 6% and 20% of your pay and are encouraged to enroll right away. If you contribute at least 6% to your savings plan, the Company will contribute a 7% match.
