Senior Claims Adjuster

Job Summary

The Senior Claims Adjuster role, which is part of the Risk Management & Insurance group of the Treasurer’s Department, is responsible for providing claims management services to the Corporation and its affiliates in the U.S. Services include managing property damage, third-party liability, high value subrogation and workers’ compensation claims. This role also requires the candidate to respond to emergency response events primarily in the U.S on a 24/7/365 basis. The position will be located in The Woodlands, Texas.

Job Functions:

  • Manage a caseload of property, third-party liability, subrogation and workers’ compensation claims
  • Respond to emergency response events primarily in the U. S.
  • Assist in projects for Risk Management & Insurance
  • Support underwriting and operational activities related to the Corporation’s wholly-owned captive insurance companies
  • Ensure company’s compliance with local laws, regulations and contractual obligations
  • Negotiate and administer contracts with third-party service providers
  • Assist business units with the resolution of insurance claims and recoveries
  • Actively support and participate in the company’s safety, health, and environmental management systems
  • Assure compliance with delegation of authority, controls, and operations integrity management standards and requirements
  • Steward key performance indicators and metrics for assigned operations
  • Periodically assist with internal assessments to assure compliance with controls

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience adjusting Property Subrogation (High Value), Liability and Workers’ Compensation matters
  • Texas Workers’ Compensation License (Active)
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Working knowledge of property and casualty insurance and other common insurance policy forms and principles
  • Proven leadership experience, of projects, work areas, or people
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time to ExxonMobil operations worldwide
  • Excellent administrative and organizational competencies, with careful attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage short deadlines and respond to emergency situations
  • Adherence to the highest ethical standards
     

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • CPCU, Chartered Insurance Institute, or similar professional designation
  • Demonstrated risk management and insurance experience in the oil and gas sector
