ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

This role provides expert guidance in developing and executing strategic coverage plans for raw materials and process aids across the entire oil and gas value chain (Upstream, Midstream, Downstream), helping the organization navigate supply risk, market dynamics, and value optimization. This role leverages deep analytical capabilities, commercial development and cross-functional collaboration to inform sourcing decisions and support enterprise-wide strategy alignment. Success in this position requires strong strategic thinking, commercial optimization, stakeholder influence, and the ability to advise through complexity and change.

 

 

What you will do

  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and commercial teams to design and implement coverage strategies for raw materials and process aids.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of supply markets, supplier capabilities, and commercial trends to guide strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain scenario-based financial and operational models to assess coverage options, risk exposure, and value creation opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional workshops to drive alignment and execution of coverage strategies across business units.
  • Continuously monitor the effectiveness of coverage strategies and adapt plans in response to market shifts, operational changes, and evolving business priorities.
  • Prepare and present strategic recommendations across the value chain, insights, and performance updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Identify and evaluate emerging supply risks and opportunities, incorporating geopolitical, regulatory, and sustainability factors into strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, operations and supply chain teams to ensure alignment between coverage strategies and broader business objectives.
  • Support the development of long-term supplier relationship strategies to enhance resilience and innovation within the raw materials and process aids portfolio.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of internal tools, templates, and best practices for coverage strategy development and execution.

 

About you

Minimum Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of Experience in a global complex supply chain supply chain strategy, sourcing, or business development
  • BS in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related fields
  • Highly collaborative – able to work across functions and influence without authority
  • Strong understanding of supply risk management, market dynamics, and value chain optimization
  • Strong financial acumen to evaluate cost models and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Strong commercial understanding, through business development, negotiations or similar experiences
  • Robust collaboration skills and ability to develop many simultaneous cross-functional stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to understand and navigate complex interdependencies across the supply chain, commercial strategy, and operational execution to drive holistic solutions.
  • Skilled in presenting ideas, influencing decisions, and building credibility with senior leadership through clear communication and strategic insight.
  • Leading teams and stakeholders through change, fostering alignment and engagement during strategy shifts, market disruptions, or organizational transitions

  • Familiarity with circularity and sustainability considerations in supply strategy
