About the Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Production Accounting Systems Analyst within the Production Analysis Systems team based in Spring, TX. This role will be instrumental to support multiple Production Accounting Teams, providing application support, data analysis, delivery of large-scale projects, and advancing the technical domain for evolution of our Production Accounting system environment.
What you will do
- Provide technical support for Production Accounting group including complex system analysis, initiating and developing data analyses, and reporting methodologies by monitoring new technologies in the industry
- As a subject matter expert in measurement and production allocation methodology, troubleshoot allocation system/interface issues and advise on allocation configurations leveraging best industry practices
- Lead special projects as needed by Production Accounting
- Perform advanced data analyses and make recommendations through a multi-discipline approach to projects. Provide high-level support to other business line departments (e.g. Revenue Accounting)
- Ensure timely execution of monthly Production Accounting duties by assisting the department as needed when complexities or issues arise
About You
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years plus oil/gas experience required, with field data capture and Production Accounting
- Write code using advanced knowledge of database query design (SQL) to create complex stored procedures, handle system customization, and data analysis
- Interpret complex production flow setups including design of abstract allocation system configurations
- Analyze and interpret data, systems, oil and gas agency rules and regulations
- State and Federal volumetric reporting requirement knowledge
- Develop thorough implementation/test plans for new solutions and upgrades
- Ability to work independently and as a team, multi-task, and adapt in a dynamic, changing environment
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Train employees and field personnel on production system applications and allocation fundamentals
- Available to travel 10% of work schedule to support Production Accountants and Operations located in multiple office locations
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- 10+ years plus oil/gas experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree recommended in a technology-related discipline such as: Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science
- Experience with IFS/P2/Merrick Suite of products: Procount, PetroRegs, and Carte preferred
- Broad experience and familiarity with technologies and systems of Production Accounting
- Project Management and Agile Methodologies
- Experience with Spotfire, Python, Databricks, PowerBI a plus
- Experience with W Energy/Seven Lakes - JOYN a plus
- Excellent presentation, and training skills in a classroom setting
