JOB SUMMARY

 

ExxonMobil, located in Spring, Texas, is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to advance and execute its Upstream Business strategies through Power-focused commercial roles focused on ExxonMobil opportunities in U.S. competitive and regulated markets (i.e. ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Originate and secure cost-effective power supply for ExxonMobil assets in the United States
  • Maximize value from excess power generated by ExxonMobil assets/PPAs
  • Develop and coordinate Demand Response participation for ExxonMobil loads; originate opportunities for additional ancillary services
  • Develop, prioritize, select and execute of commercial concepts for new and existing assets across a variety of U.S. power markets
  • Develop and deploy thoughtful, effective strategies in line with ExxonMobil’s objectives and opportunities; involves the generation and application of unique business insights, capabilities and opportunities in such a way to make a compelling case for action and create sustained competitive advantage
  • Develop and maintain relationships with power market participants including regulators, T&D providers, ISOs, REPs, traders, etc.
  • Develop wholesale customer strategies and support wholesale credit to REP business
  • Serve as internal power markets consultant for existing Upstream, Downstream, Chemical operations, and new major capital projects
  • Represent ExxonMobil in power-related advocacy groups; facilitate compliance with applicable regulations and related reporting requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Candidates should have a track record of maximizing value for their businesses, delivering first tier business results, and demonstrating behaviors that are aligned with ExxonMobil’s values and culture. Candidates should be self-motivated and excel at achieving business results through collaborating as part of a multi-disciplined team. Demonstrated teamwork, communication and leadership skills are essential. Candidates should be flexible with regard to domestic and international travel with a willingness to consider future assignments outside of the United States.  Skill requirements are as follows:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience required 
  • Experience transacting in competitive and regulated U.S. power markets 
  • Experience with ISO settlements, credit analysis, retail strategies, and power market fundamentals
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations 
  • Knowledge of standard industry contracting practices 
  • Experience in negotiation, commercial design, contract development and relationship management
  • Strong project management and change management skills
  • Back / Middle office experience
  • Industry Certifications such as NERC are an asset
