Land Technician

Job Role Summary:

 

The Land Technician has the responsibility to assist and support the Land organization in the nature of lease/contract research and analysis, data entry/retrieval, mapping, and performance indicator tracking and reporting.  The Land Technician should utilize processes, systems and controls to document, set-up, administer and maintain agreements, and to comply with all legal and controls requirements.  The Land Technician position is located in Houston, TX and works under the direction of the Property / Title Analysis Supervisor.

 

Primary Job Functions:

 

• Assist, support and/or perform setup, administration and maintenance of Land records to assure data integrity
• Administer systems and controls
• Analyze and administer performance indicator tracking and reporting, as directed
• Conduct research and organize relevant information in support of commercial and legal activities (e.g. support for Litigation, Asset Management, etc.)
• Analyze complex commercial matters and collate data for Land and Law review
• Develop tools and processes to enhance Land group’s workflows
• Provide support to other functions, as required (e.g. Litigation, Asset Management, etc.)
• Support organization in maintaining external relationship (e.g. responses to Landowners, Royalty Owners, Partners, etc.)
• Set up and manage hard copy records and perform digital scanning of documents
• Become proficient in the use of Quorum Land Suite, ArcGIS, IHS/Drilling Info, LexcoOwl

Job Requirements:


• Minimum 7 years in-house Land Tech/Analyst experience; CPLTA preferred
• Possess working knowledge of basic land concepts and lease terms, including familiarity with oil and gas leases, JOAs, Farmout Agreements, etc.
• Must have good communications skills, possess a positive attitude, and be a team player
• Must be detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks at once and capable of producing results in time constraining situations
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Work, Excel and PowerPoint
• Bachelor degree from an accredited college/university preferred
