About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
The Global Category Manager has overall responsibility to drive value creation, commercial intensity, and competitive advantage through disciplined, persistent internal and external market research as well as development and execution of category strategies. They are responsible for design and execution of high-impact commercial actions, supplier relationship management and distribution of effective strategic, commercial, and contractual guidance. This position is responsible for a global portfolio, interfacing with other category managers and contract owners around the world, business, technical, functional stakeholders as well as external parties. What you will do
As an HR Category Manager, you will drive value creation, operating efficiency, and competitive advantage via end-to-end category management while also building commercial intensity, maintaining operational integrity, and developing people.
- Deliver key performance metrics including total value capture and category family return on investment (ROI).
- Guide development and execution of HR category and process outsourcing strategies
- Partner with Contract Managers, HR, and HR Operations groups to achieve strategic goals
- Manage contracts globally for Benefits, Learning, HR outsourcing, Mobility services, and Recruiting
- Grow team intensity and high-grade priority commercial skills to deliver world-class outcomes
- Facilitate and support Business Line oversight of supplier performance and relationship management
- Facilitate and support Business Line management of supplier performance and relationships
- Drive strategic alignment with stakeholders across all business lines
- Establish agreements with advantaged terms, best-in-class compensation, and strong supply security features, driving supplier accountability and proactivity

- Maintain a disciplined safety, security, and controls environment within the HR category
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other applicable business degrees
- A minimum of 10 years relevant HR procurement experience
- Process industry business knowledge
- Ability to identify commercial opportunities and risks in all HR areas
- Diverse set of negotiation and influencing experiences demonstrating ability to apply principles versus just follow process
- Excellent relationship management skills; ability to influence business-line stakeholders and suppliers
- Strong analytical skills: ability to quickly evaluate data, generate insights, and make meaningful decisions.
Contract development skills; knowledge of contracting and compensation approaches and their trade-offs.
Transformational mindset; ability to drive positive change in work process, data analysis, and category approach. - Coaching skills; ability to grow commercial skills and intensity of a global team
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Controls, planning, and stewardship skills
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or Human Resources
- Business and category management acumen
- Strong understanding and application of total cost of ownership, and ability to derive total cost of ownership models and should cost models
- Demonstrated project planning/execution skills
- Knowledge of source to pay processes (Sourcing, Buying, Contracting, Payables)
- Proven ability to lead virtual team projects or initiatives
- Ability to lead developments and advancements of commercial proficiencies within team, category, and across Procurement
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external parties
- Ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and develop actionable plans
- Demonstrated understanding of key market players/dynamics of domestic and international logistics
- A minimum of 10 years experience in HR procurement & other related sectors
- Experience within HR category management
- Experience with commercializing various HR segments such as brokerage services and recruiting is a must
