What role you will play in our team

 

We are seeking a highly experienced Market Developer to join our team. As the Global Market Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development of new market opportunities for innovative battery anode materials and supporting the commercialization of these advanced materials for lithium-ion batteries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lithium-ion battery technology, materials science and market analysis, and prior experience in the battery value chain. Through customer & external engagements, you will stay abreast of new battery chemistry developments, anticipate future market trends, and translate them to insights that can steer our product development program. You will be a part of the Marketing & Sales team in our growing Carbon Materials business, which aims to supply high-performance products to multiple growing market segments, including but not limited to EV batteries. 

 

What you will do

 

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis: 
    • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, demands, and opportunities in the anode material sector
    • Analyze competitive landscape and customer needs to inform product development strategies
    • Scout and analyze alternative technology trends (SSB, Na-Ion etc.), conduct literature research to stay updated with the latest advancements
  • Product Development Planning: 
    • Lead the development of innovative anode materials, focusing on performance metrics such as energy density, cycle life, fast charging and safety
    • Collaborate with R&D teams to translate market requirements into technical specifications and product designs
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: 
    • Establish and maintain relationships with customers and industry partners
    • Work closely with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure product quality and scalability (post plant start-up) 

 

About you

 

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology, including chemistry and construction, and their impact on cell performance (energy density, fast charging, cycle life, safety)
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment


Credentials & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in anode material development for lithium-ion batteries
  • B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrochemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Proven track record of successful battery product and market development
  • Experience with a leading battery maker or battery R&D company with a presence in Asia.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery materials supply chain players
