About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.
By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. It was designed to foster improved collaboration, creativity and innovation and enhance the company’s ability to attract, develop and retain the top talent in the industry.
The campus is located in Spring, Texas, on 385 wooded acres immediately to the west of Interstate Highway 45 (I-45), at the intersection of I-45 and the Hardy Toll Road, approximately 25 miles from the cultural vibrancy of downtown Houston.

Kay Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global employee communications strategy that supports business priorities and enhances employee engagement.
- Align messaging with organizational vision, mission, and values to foster a unified culture across all regions.
Executive Communications
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, including the CEO and executive team, crafting compelling narratives for organizational updates, change initiatives, and leadership visibility.
- Prepare speeches, talking points, and executive messaging for internal forums such as town halls and global meetings.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a global team of communications professionals, fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Build capabilities within the team to leverage emerging technologies and best practices in employee engagement.
Channel & Content Management
- Oversee multi-channel communications platforms (intranet, email, video, podcasts, mobile apps, digital signage) to ensure consistent, timely, and engaging messaging.
- Drive editorial strategy for internal news, campaigns, and storytelling initiatives that connect employees to company priorities.
Change Management & Culture Building
- Partner with HR and business leaders to support organizational change, culture-building initiatives, and employee experience programs through clear and empathetic communication.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion messaging across all internal platforms.
Measurement & Insights
- Establish KPIs and leverage analytics to measure communication effectiveness and continuously improve engagement strategies.
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on communication impact and employee sentiment.
Crisis & Issues Management
- Lead internal communication response during critical business events, ensuring transparency and alignment with external messaging.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in Communications, preferably within large, global organizations.
- Minimum 15 years of experience managing teams and leading strategic employee communications initiatives.
- Demonstrated success working directly with C-suite executives and influencing at the highest levels of the organization.
- Expertise in developing and executing global, multi-channel communications strategies.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills in complex, matrixed environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Experience in change management, culture-building, and crisis communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Preferred Leadership Attributes
- Global mindset with experience managing communications across multiple regions and cultures.
- Familiarity with digital engagement platforms and emerging technologies (AI-driven communications, analytics tools).
- Proven ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement in communication practices.
