ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Writer to join the Investor Relations team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Investor Relations to develop high-quality content for earnings calls, investor meetings, proxy materials, board memos, and other financial communications. This role requires a deep understanding of financial concepts, excellent writing skills, and the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

What you will do

 

•    Serve as the speechwriter to the CFO for all external and internal communications, including earnings call scripts, investor conferences, and other financial communications.
•    Assist with preparation of executive briefing materials, social media content, SEC filings and financial disclosures.
•    Develop proxy materials, board memos, Annual Shareholders Meeting materials, and other proxy season communications.
•    Ensure all content is clear, concise, and aligned with the company's messaging and branding.
•    Conduct thorough research to support financial narratives and ensure accuracy.
•    Translate complex financial data into understandable and engaging content for various stakeholders.
•    Review and edit financial documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
•    Stay updated on industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices in financial communication.
•    Work closely with other departments, including Public & Government Affairs to gather necessary information, alignment with messaging, and insights for financial content.

 

About you

 

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Journalism, or a related field.
•    Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial writing or a related role.
•    Strong understanding of financial concepts, terminology, reporting, and the investment community.
•    Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
•    Ability to convey complex financial information in a clear and engaging manner.
•    Excellent research and analytical skills.
•    Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
•    Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•    Experience with financial reporting software and tools is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:
•    Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Communications, or a related field.
•    Experience working in a corporate finance and communications environment.
•    Knowledge of SEC regulations and financial disclosure requirements.
