About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
-
Unconventional reserves engineers work with area development teams to estimate and report reserves and resources for all Unconventional business units

Work with multi-discipline teams to evaluate and model all key reserves value drivers
-
Leverage fundamental reservoir engineering skills in reservoir description, surveillance, performance prediction, economic evaluation, development planning, opportunity generation and production optimization

Ensure all relevant reserves evaluations, workflows, data, and quality control processes are SEC compliant and meet financial disclosure requirements

Typically engineers are responsible for all operated / non-operated reserves/resources within an assigned work area

The position is located at ExxonMobil campus in Spring, Texas
What will you do
-
Primary interface with business unit development team: attend key asset development plan meetings, understand subsurface/reservoir engineering perspective and share any reserves-related perspective

Update well decline curves annually, documenting major changes

Coordinate with senior technical experts to understand, update, and consistently apply technical principles such as b-factor and terminal decline

Participate in annual reserves process, including providing reports, documentation and support, database quality control, understanding cash flows

Liaise with auditors and accounting teams as needed to answer questions

Coordinate documentation and support as related to SOX controls

Collaborate with relevant experts to complete special reserves-related studies, e.g reliable technology, competitor analysis
Skills and Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required - preferably Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical

A minimum of 3 years of industry work experience in Unconventional Reservoir Engineering

Demonstrated work experience in reserves analysis and reporting

Ability to complete decline curve analysis, develop drill well locations, perform economic evaluations, and prepare area for reserve report review

Comfort with large amounts of data that is, at times, ambiguous

Strong computer proficiency and familiar with industry software

Candidates should be self-motivated and focused on achieving business results while working in a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated teamwork, communication and leadership skills are essential
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

Proficiency with Spotfire, ComboCurve, ARIES, and/or Mosaic
-
Experience using public datasets for reservoir engineering analysis, particularly experience with business intelligence tools, e.g. Spotfire, Alteryx
