ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

  • Enable assessment and development of novel electrochemical approaches/technologies for novel processes and/or energy systems

  • Work collaboratively across global, cross-disciplinary and commercial teams, and with third parties (academia, industry) to assess, accelerate pace of technology development and deployment in emerging energy systems design (including energy storage)

What you will do

  • Serve as a key technical contact for identifying technology opportunities; coordinate technical programs and efforts to enable development and deployment of new low carbon-intensity processes, with emphasis on electrochemical systems

  • Drive effective development and utilization of Intellectual Property to meet technology deployment goals

About you

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and qualification.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical expertise in electrochemistry, specifically as pertains to experimental and conceptual design of electrochemical systems, understanding of key principles related to electrochemistry (e.g., polarization, cyclic voltammetry, materials & system design etc.)

  • Ability to stretch from fundamental electrochemistry principles to understand connectivity to system and process design/modeling, with a view to understanding/developing areas of technical applicability in low-carbon intensity energy systems, including energy storage

  • Working or advanced knowledge of electrostatics is a plus

  • Ability to critically assess external landscape and third-party technology in electrochemical processes to understand feasibility, techno-economics, scalability and overall carbon intensity as embodied in a scaled-up energy system or subsystem

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and integrate diverse technical concepts into technology development principles

  • Ability to function as key technical contact and work collaboratively in Research setting, while also interacting with external parties to progress technology development objectives

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Physics / Engineering Physics / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Materials Science is preferred
