What you will do

 

Lab Operations

  • Perform QC analysis of products and raw material samples according to ExxonMobil in-house, ASTM, and other approved test methods
  • Enter test data into the LIMS for generation of reports and batch release.
  • Inspect Certificate of Analysis for incoming raw materials
  • Ensure that established test methods and equipment operating procedures are followed
  • Ensure that all testing raw data and results are recorded in a timely manner and in conformance to DIAF requirements.
  • Ensure that raw data and records are retained in the respective files according to established document retention guidelines.
  • Communicate with Manufacturing staff in routine operations and provide quality control support to the blending operations. E.g. flushing and service change advice, correction of off-spec blends etc.
  • Verify that laboratory equipment is in working condition, informing Chemist or M&C Coordinator of non-functional or out-of-control equipment
  • Assist in troubleshooting of instruments in out-of-control situations.
  • Ensure effective hand-over of responsibility to in-coming shift.
  • Assist Chemist/PIA in investigating manufacturing and product quality issues e.g. conducting hand blends and testing activities.
  • Participate in Brand Approval support role and testing of samples from Zone affiliates. This includes performing lab blends for new product formulations, changes to formulations and investigative work.
  • Cover duties of other laboratory technicians during absences and provide support for overtime work outside of normal working hours.
  • Assist in updating of test methods and instrument operating procedures.
  • Perform or coordinate equipment calibration and maintenance activities according to plan and test method requirements
  • Stand-in for QC team leads during absences.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by Chemist / PIA / Product Quality Assurance Manager

 

Security, Safety, Health and the Environment

  • Follow standard operating procedure, work instruction
  • Adhere to correct use of PPE
  • Familiar with products and chemicals SDS and exposure hazards
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in work areas
  • Participate in safety walks, inspection, near miss reporting, LPSA, LPS and Safe Work Committee
  • Ensure compliance on waste disposals in accordance to regulatory requirements and company environmental policies and ISO 14001
  • Participate in Emergency Response Teams

 

Controls

  • Compliance with Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS), Brand and Product Integrity Management System (BPIMS), Quality Practice & Guideline (QP&G) and Data Integrity Assurance Framework (DIAF) requirements
  • Ensure adherence of established procedures/work instructions to meet controls requirements.
  • Periodic review and update existing procedures to meet controls guidelines
  • Participate in implementation of the Quality Assurance System, including various QC Tools such as SQC activities, Crosscheck Program participation, Test Method

 

Assessments and Test Process Checks etc.

  • Perform corrective and preventive action following non-conformances and out-of-control situations.
  • Contributing actively in the area of continuous improvement pertaining to laboratory working conditions, test data accuracy, equipment downtime etc.
  • Participate in controls activities such as identifying control gaps, implementing gap closure actions and assessment.
  • Conduct data verification on worksheets and calibration records based on QP&G manual

 

Product Integrity

  • Implement procedures as required by BPIMS
  • Adhere to established procedures to meet International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and BPIMS requirements
  • Update procedures to meet revised BPIMS guidelines.
  • Perform product quality control testing per established ASTM and other approved test standards
  • Participate in quality activities such as identifying quality gaps, implementing gap closure actions, etc.

 

 

About you
 
Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Diploma in Chemical Process Technology / Chemical Engineering, G.C.E. ‘A’ Level Certificate or equivalent.
  • Possess some years of working experience in laboratory operations.
  • Demonstrate competence in lubricant oil testing
  • Demonstrates sound understanding of QP&G, DIAF and the Laboratory Quality Assurance System as well as relevant areas of BPIMS
