What you will do
Through our internship program, you will gain first-hand experience with an industry leader in the area of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) marketing, trading and optimization. In addition, it will be an excellent platform for you to explore your career aspirations while delivering tangible benefits throughout our business from invaluable on-the-job-experience. Beyond that, you won’t be going it alone as you will have a supervisor assigned to you who can help you navigate the organization, give advice on your development & help you learn what it takes to achieve your goals.
Your internship will be assessed, and the process includes a formal final review of project delivery and performance by your supervisor. You’ll also be asked to prepare a final presentation and/or provide a report out about your project / work achieved. You can look forward to the following in your time with us:
- Learn and support some of commercial activities including marketing, trading and optimization
- Improve initiatives and programs that expose you to daily activities of our operational team
- Involvement in real significant commercial activities. Take part in value-driven optimization activities, gain insights into pillars of operational fundamentals & contribute to business needs.
Your internship scope would include:
- Conducts / reviews analysis for GGOT & LNG Marketing Business Units including spot/swap & strip cargo analysis, project economics, contract valuation and optimization, and market studies.
- Gathers intelligence on LNG supply and demand fundamentals, market sentiments and technical price analysis to synthesize data into actionable trading insights in the Near-Term Price Outlook.
- Intelligence gathering to support competitor / customer analysis to continuously improve intelligence database.
- Assists in building of bottom-up approach in LNG global supply and demand model including exploring and recommending of using real time data to complement existing models
- Assists in the automation of existing intel datasets to increase efficiency and transparency of data analysis, transfer and retention
- Remains knowledgeable about leading-edge developments, analytical techniques, technologies and tools in trading analytics

About you
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates may be assigned to LNG Analytics role and to be eligible for our Internship Program, you should be:
- Preferably in your 3rd year of study at the university level in one of the following disciplines: a STEM subject, Economics or Finance
- Willing to work at an assigned location – HarbourFront Tower One
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent computer-based analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral in local language and English
- Strong strategic thinking and conceptual abilities
- Experience in advanced analytical methods with the ability to apply to a wide range of scenarios across different businesses
- Experience and knowledge of data modelling, and proficiency with R, Python or Matlab
- Knowledgeable in decision analysis techniques and comfortable in handling issues involving risk and uncertainty.
- Ability to work effectively in multi-national / multi-cultural environment
