Job Role Summary


What you will be doing:

  • Ensure SCP energy compliance with existing and upcoming Singapore Energy Conservation Act
  • Develop or refine energy improvement plans (e.g. through reviews, holding studies and workshops) to be consistent with the SCP vision
  • Guide business units’ energy coordinators on energy-related technical knowledge
  • Become well versed in energy management principles and act as a visible champion for driving a step change in SCP energy leadership/ culture
  • Ensure new and updated Energy Recovery Network Best Practices are assessed, gap closure plans are reviewed in the Energy Steering Committee and incorporated in the energy strategy and are implemented
  • Participate as a voting member in the Energy Recovery Network to improve knowledge sharing across the region
  • Identify opportunities to drive actual energy improvements and to promote positive energy culture
  • Host the monthly meetings and provide necessary documentation and agenda


What you should have:

  • Bachelor, Masters or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or related
  • Sound knowledge in energy consuming processes such as furnaces, heat exchangers, boilers, GTGs, etc.
  • Industrial standards related to energy such as ISO50001, 2 and 3.
  • Strong leadership & coordination skills with good collaborative skills – Coordinate project development through appropriation. Effective interface management with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Planning and organization
  • Olefins & Utilities experience preferred
  • SCEM certification preferred but not pre-requisite
