What you will do

 

 

  • Monitor regulations at Asia Pacific countries and national levels, determine business impact and communicate requirements of new/changing regulations.
  • Recommend/develop solution(s) to comply with new/changing regulations, standards, and agreements.
  • Provide guidance to handle and resolution of local trade regulations issues.
  • Coordinate/Lead Trade Regulations Management System and Compliance assessments and recommend changes/additions to assessment procedures to improve oversight of compliance.
  • Support reporting of regulatory incidents and findings, document incidents and monitor closure to correct/prevent future occurrences.
  • Support and perform advocacy efforts on behalf of the company with relevant authorities.
  • Provide Trade Regulation expertise in support of organization growth initiatives.
  • Support implementation of Trade Regulations improve projects.
  • Key interface with Customs Authority to support any Customs Audit, Customs queries and security program (e.g. Authorized Economic Operator (AEO))
  • Conduct Trade Compliance related trainings. 
  • Maintain and update trade compliance related procedures & trainings materials

 

 

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Science, Supply Chain Management, Business or Logistics from a recognized university 
  • Minimally 5-7 years’ experience in any/ all of the following: 
    • Import/export compliance activities
    • HS classification 
    • Involvement in Free Trade Agreement,
    • Customs valuation
    • Development of compliance procedures.
    • Delivering Trade Compliance training
    • Advisory role for  regulatory requirements related to Asia Pacific import/export regulations and International Trade Regulations (preferred)
    • Knowledge of the Global Trade System (preferred)
  • Demonstrate experience in  advocacy efforts with regulatory agencies
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain Logistics
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) 
  • Strong analytical skills to understand regulations and technical material and present information in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to lead teams to accomplish goals across organizational and functional boundaries 
  • Ability to influence others through informal and indirect leadership
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive internal and external networks
  • Demonstrate analytical  and trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative skills  
  • Self-motivated individual requiring minimal management over-sight
  • Possess basic IT / digital skill
