ExxonMobil in China
ExxonMobil has a long history in China dating back to 1892 when its predecessor Standard Oil began marketing kerosene to light the Mei Foo lamps at Chinese homes. Today, ExxonMobil’s business portfolio in China spans the full spectrum of the industry, from upstream to downstream, chemicals and technology center.

Research & Development
ExxonMobil Shanghai Technology Center (STC) opened in 2011 to develop and deliver innovative solutions to customers throughout China and Asia Pacific. In April 2018, we completed the multi-million dollar expansion of STC. The expansion includes a new, state-of-the-art research and development facility to support customer growth through collaboration and innovation.
On February 15, 2023, ExxonMobil broke ground on construction of a new technology center at the Dayawan Petrochemical Industrial Park. Dayawan Technology Center will focus on developing new high performance products and innovative processes to bring products to commercial scale.
 
What you will do
- Fully compliance with all company policies, including safety, control, data integrity, etc
- Responsible for developing optimal test slate to analyze the lubricants’ performance to assist field engineer to conduct troubleshooting based on application.
- Responsible for generating professional reports to address requestors’ questions in compliance with company in-house guidelines and processes to ensure report accuracy and quality consistency
- Responsible for conducting analytical tests, and interpretating analytical test results with high quality, such as SEM, FTIR, GC
- Close collaboration with application engineers or product experts to develop new test methods by utilizing internal or external resources; proactively participate in technical projects
- Be aware of the most advanced techniques and establish new capabilities if necessary
- Other tasks that relevant to the job
About you
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, analytical/organic chemistry or relevant majors preferred. Master’s degree will be preferred
- Be familiar with analytical techniques, such as FTIR, GC/LC, MS
- Experiences related to lubricants or troubleshooting by utilizing analytical tests or molecular characterization, or failure analysis of equipment parts are preferred
- Be able to read and write report in English, be able to communicate in English orally
- Good communication and collaboration, strong willingness and ability to learn new things are must
- Good problem-solving skills and strong logic thinking and good problem are preferred
- Attention to details and accuracy
