What role you will play in our team
- ExxonMobil PNG Limited is looking for an energetic, experienced, and commercially astute in-house lawyer for a Law Department position that will involve a broad range of work across all of ExxonMobil’s interests in Papua New Guinea.
What you will do
- The position is based in Port Moresby reporting to a POM-based manager. The successful applicant will be highly motivated with a proven track record of excellence.
- Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and related documents, providing litigation and compliance support, and legal advice on various aspects of ExxonMobil’s activities and operations in the country.
About you
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree from a reputable law school
- Admission to the PNG National & Supreme Courts
- Two to seven years of legal experience, providing quality business and corporate legal advice in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Active membership in the Papua New Guinea Law Society with a current and valid practicing certificate
- Candidates must be PNG nationals or permanent residents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Strong relationship building skills, self-confidence, flexibility, initiative and a strategic, pragmatic approach
- Strong analytical and research skills and ability to exercise sound business judgment
- Ability and desire to work both independently and as a member of an integrated team.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:
- Specific experience in providing legal support for upstream oil and gas operations
- Demonstrated record of leadership and initiative
- Experience in multinational corporate legal department
