What you will do

 

Operation & Maintenance Intake Trainee Program

 

As an Operation & Maintenance Intake Trainee, you will participate in a 12-15 months scholarship program designed to prepare you for a career with EM. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be considered for employment with EM.

 

The program includes two rotational assignments, after which trainees will receive a permanent placement in either the Operations or Maintenance group. Final confirmation of employment (formal hiring) is expected around 2027, following successful completion of the program.

 

Upon placement, you may be considered for one of the following roles:

 

  • Production (Operations) Technician
  • Instrument Technician
  • Electrical Technician
  • Mechanical Technician

 

About you

 

Applicant to this program, must be a PNG Citizen or PNG Permanent Resident. 

 

Operation & Maintenance Intake Trainee Requirements- Applicants must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Education: Completed their highest educational qualification within the past eight years.
  • Language Skills: Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Well-developed communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Discipline: A clean disciplinary record.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Technical vocational trade certificate Level II or III in Mechanical, Production, Instrumentation, Electrical, or related fields.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience.

 

Alternative Entry: Grade 12 graduates with strong academic results in Mathematics, English, Physics, and Chemistry.

 

Successful candidates will have, 

 

  • Excellent academic performance
  • Exceptional leadership qualities
  • Strong communications and problem-solving skills
  • Experience utilizing in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
