Job Role Summary

Each year ExxonMobil hires a number of outstanding candidates as accountants, analysts and advisors. We are seeking individuals with a minimum of 2 years public accounting, finance or industry experience.  These professional positions are a vital part of the Controller’s organization.  We are currently seeking a Business Unit Financial Analyst, based in Midland, to support our upstream business and operations based there. Candidates must have an accounting, audit, finance or controls background and have the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Job Role Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include the following:
•    Analysis and reporting of financial and business operating results to identify drivers, variances and improvement opportunities; developing insights to drive business decisions
•    Act as financial advisor to business unit operating management on cost stewardship controls, and/or financial processes
•    Acts as primary point contact for business field operations team to Controllers support service functions in HQ 
•    Coordination of a business unit's financial plan, operating forecast and/or capital budget
•    Designing and evaluating financial and operating control systems
•    Improving financial and accounting processes
•    Support audits of our business functions and external business partners
•    Provides broad controls advice and guidance on execution of controls process and policy 
•    Prepares various stewardship report and senior management packages
•    Promotes Consistency and Shares Best Practices

 

Through these activities you will work closely with both financial and business line operating management to improve our processes and participate in business decisions.

Required Qualifications, Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

•    Bachelor’s degree required. A degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s) in Finance or Accounting preferred
•    Minimum of 2 years public accounting, finance or industry experience 
•    Demonstrated analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while being physically located away from HQ’s core Controller’s team and direct supervisor
