The successful applicant will provide technical support to existing and potential new users of ExxonMobil’s range of JayflexTM plasticizers including advice on product safety, product composition and product performance.


Job Role Responsibilities


  • Support the development of ExxonMobil JayflexTM plasticizers into existing and new applications throughout Europe, CIS, Middle East and Africa
  • Use product knowledge and skills to address technical questions on plasticizer performance 
  • Assist customers in formulating flexible PVC to meet industry specifications 
  • Provide insight to customers on existing and emerging regulatory drivers using science and facts as the basis for both product development and advocacy
  • Work with customers to resolve finished product performance or quality concerns
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers through ongoing technical dialogues to understand and anticipate market trend changes 
  • Support assessment of regulatory developments and their impact on product portfolio
  • Support or coordinate new product development
  • Liaise with Marketing, Manufacturing, and Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs departments on product composition and quality including evaluation of impact of raw materials on product performance

Skills - Competencies


  • Bachelors (or higher) degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Knowledge of major thermoplastic polymers, their use and processing
  • Good understanding of physical and chemical analytical techniques
  • Ability to make high quality technical reports, and presenting internally and externally to demonstrate product attributes meeting customer needs
  • Ability to work and deliver on deadlines to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required. Time management, team work, attention to details, strong controls and safety awareness are key personal values
  • Language skills
    • Fluent in English
    • Two other languages from either the European or CIS regions are an asset


Knowledge - competencies that need to be developed and acquired


  • Acquire work experience in plasticiser and/or PVC compounding
  • Acquire experience in technical service or product development for the flexible PVC industry
  • Good understanding of chemistry, properties  and applications of flexible PVC compounds
  • Good understanding of polymers processing techniques including but not limited to extrusion, calendering, extrusion, spraying, dipping and spread coating.  
  • Understanding of product stewardship and major global regulations to address health, safety and environmental questions about our products.
  • Ability to work with Technical, Sales and Product stewardship resources to acquire knowledge of the ExxonMobil product portfolio, manufacturing, regulatory process and product applications to assist in development efforts
